
Dimapur, November 12 (MExN): The St Joseph University’s Department of Computer Science association ‘Tekne Club’ conducted an orientation programme on ‘Exploring the Field of Computer Science’ on November 12 to help new students who have opted for BCA and MCA get familiarized on the wide scope offered by the field of computer science.
According to a press release issued by the University, Rajeshwari G who is a working as Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Surya Group of Institution, Tamil Nadu spoke on the wide range fields available to budding computer professionals.
He shared that principal areas of study within Computer Science include artificial intelligence, computer systems and networks, security, database systems, human computer interaction, vision and graphics, numerical analysis, programming languages, software engineering, bioinformatics and theory of computing.
He also shared job opportunities in field of computer science which included mobile application developer, software engineer, system architect, machine learning engineer, data engineer, web developer etc.
The HOD briefed the students on the evaluation pattern and other ethics the students have to follow on the campus.
Earlier, the programme started with an invocation by Sr Daihru Kholia of I BCA followed by welcome address which was delivered by Amit Chetri of I MCA. The brief introduction was followed by the talk delivered by the resource person Rajeswari and the HOD, Dr S Pradeep Kumar Kenny. The programme ended with vote of thanks delivered by Abigail Kin Student of I BCA. Dichamthon Gangmei of I MCA was the host of the programme.
