Orientation training held for personnel of MSK scheme in Longleng

Longleng, May 15 (MExN): The State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) and Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) conducted orientation training for personnel of Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) scheme, Longleng district on May 15.  

The District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) under the MSK scheme is meant to provide “one stop convergent support services for empowering rural women with opportunities for skill development, employment, digital literacy, health and nutrition,” according to a press release.  

Bano Vinito, Chairperson, NSSWB challenged and exhorted the MSK team to give their utmost service for the benefit of their own people.  

Gracy Ayee, State Coordinator, SRCW explained the implementing mechanism of SAKHI- One Stop Centre and delved into the converging aspects of MSK with the ministry’s schemes in the State.  

The working mechanism of the 181-Women Helpline, a 24x7 free call services to cater to victims of violence against women was presented by Chothalü Phesao.  

Juliana Medom, Assistant State Coordinator, SRCW, who moderated the session, gave an overview of the mission activities and its objective to liaison with the State government in facilitating the implementation of women centric schemes in the State.  

She expounded on the role of District Level Centre for Women as the foothold for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in the concerned district, the release said.
