Outburst out of guilt, NPCC responds to ‘defectors’

Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): The NPCC today maintained that “the continued outburst of former DDCC office bearers against NPCC and particularly against President K Therie is the outcome of political defectors searching for a reason to cover their guilt.”

They are employing such tactics hoping that the public will be convinced with their lies and half truths, said the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) in a press note from its Media Cell.

“NPCC in recent times has made it very clear that only those who believe in the ideology and principles of Indian National Congress are welcome to stay and that party workers are to work for people and not for position,” it said.

In this connection, the NPCC opined that the clarity of stand must have become “a tall order for some rank opportunists who are now barking with bitterness even after defecting.”

It also pointed out that after the initial euphoria of joining divided NPF camp, the defectors must now “be realizing that the grass is not greener on the other side” and the “initial allurement is not forthcoming as promised.”

The continued attack on their former party and its President is just an attempt to extract maximum out of their new masters before their presence goes unnoticed, NPCC said.

While ‘lauding’ the “divided NPF camp for welcoming the defectors,” it further cautioned them that the “political defectors are like migratory birds without any permanent roosting place.”

The NPCC also reiterated its commitment to the people of Nagaland that “it will go all out to defeat the combined forces of corrupt NPF and communal BJP/RSS.”

Stating that Congress is the last bastion against destructive forces, the NPCC also appealed to people from all walks of life to “come forward and join hands with Congress to provide clean governance and live as free citizens.”
