Over 11 crore sanctioned for 2-lane road from Kohima New Check gate to Lerie

Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and Minister incharge of National Highways today replied that the total amount sanctioned per km against the 2-lane road from Kohima New Check Gate to Lerie stands Rs. 11.11 crore and the total length is 10 kilometers.

Replying this to MLA Chotisuh Sazo, Patton informed that the work was allotted on 15 December 2017 to M/s Vilelie Khamo & sons.

Patton said that an amount of Rs. 98.64 crores out of Rs 111.11 crore has been released to the contractor till date.
 The deputy chief minister informed that the original work has been completed but additional work under contingency provisions will be completed by March 31, 2020.

The minister said that the department will ask contractor to do the work according to the specification.

Leader of opposition TR Zeliang also put up a supplementary question asking whether the road was reconstructed under the norms and specifications laid down by the IRC to which the minister assured that the project would be put under the enquiry committee list.

 
Actual expenditure on vehicles is Rs 6410.99 lakh

Replying to MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, Rio said that the actual expenditure on vehicles in a financial year is Rs 6410.99 lakh or Rs 64.10 crore.

He said that there is need for the state government to streamline this sector, and rationalize the manner of allotment of vehicles to Government servants as well as reduce expenditure on vehicles to the extent possible.

Rio said that the chief secretary will be asked to take necessary steps in this line, so that expenditure in this area can be brought down.

Rio also said that he is also in the process of identifying other areas where expenditure can be curtailed given the acute shortage of resources.
