Over 9K persons benefit from state wide mega legal services camp

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): A state wide Mega legal Camp was held across Nagaland on November 13 and saw 9096 beneficiaries, according to a press release from the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) Public Relations Assistant Ketholeno Neihu on Saturday.

Tseminyu: Justice Hukato Swu, Judge Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench inaugurated the state level exhibition on justice delivery system, judicial administration and legal system reflecting the history, important landmarks and activities of the Gauhati High Court and Legal Services at Tseminyu Town hall today.

Wokha: Wokha DLSA conducted Legal Services Camp and Mega camp for distribution of benefits of Government Welfare Schemes to the entitled beneficiaries at Lotsu Community Hall in collaboration with District Administration and various departments. Services provided during the Camp were Free medical checkup and medicines, Registration of Aadhar card and Correction, free vaccination, free tree saplings, registration of births and deaths(certificate), free animal health care and medicines, demonstration and distribution of fish feeds, malaria testing and medicines, schemes under social welfare, post office, NRLM, rural, free legal aid desk-affidavit-correction of name, DOB, F/M name, Deed, free Legal Pamphlets, Legal Counseling, Drafting, Application among others. Beneficiaries from 10 Villages participated during the Camp and a total of 436 persons were benefitted.

Zunheboto: Zunheboto DLSA held the Mega Camp at Deputy Commissioners' Complex on November 13. Keynote and benefits for the public for camp was highlighted and emphasized by Ajongba Imchen, Chairman, ZDLSA and inaugural speech was delivered by Peter Lichamo, Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto. The Medical department, Social Welfare Department, Economics and Statistics Department, Labour Department, Sakhi One Stop Center, Prosecution, PI staff and a special consultant from Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) provided free services to beneficiaries. Altogether 1,295 beneficiaries availed different benefits from different departments and the public numbering 2167 attended the Mega Camp.

Mokokchung: The Mokokchung DLSA conducted Legal services camp at Sungratsu village covering Asetkong range comprising of 10 villages for assessment and certification for persons with disability from IMDH, registration for Old Age Pension and disability Pension and scholarship from social welfare department, registration of labour card from department of labour. 

The Persons with Disabilities were identified by Caritas India and initiatives for bringing them in person from different village were taken up. Free affidavits, declaration, drafting and legal counselling were also conducted.

Booklets on different schemes and subjects were distributed to the participants. A total of 91 beneficiaries for Old Age Pension were registered, 11 for disability Pension, 74 beneficiaries were assessed and certified with disability certificate. More than 50 beneficiaries were registered for labour card and more than 10 beneficiaries for affidavit and legal counselling. Altogether more than 236 beneficiaries were benefitted from the camp.

Tuensang: Tuensang DLSA organised one day Mega Camp at CKS hall Tuensang at with participation from various departments who delivered free services related to public health, welfare schemes, Aadhar card corrections, free drafting of Affidavit etc and 29 beneficiaries took the COVID-19 vaccine. All together 1,510 beneficiaries from 66 Villages benefited during the Mega Camp.

Peren: Secretary Peren DLSA/CJM, B P Resu officially inaugurated the legal services camp organized by the Peren DLSA in collaboration with various departments. The Agriculture department, apart from introduction of schemes, distributed seedlings and fertilizers etc.

Schemes such as PMKMY, PMKSN, and NMOOP were introduced to the public. Horticulture department distributed pamphlets and gave advice and counseling and answered frequently asked questions.

Schemes such as MIDH, RKVY, and PMKSY etc were also introduced to the citizens.

Medical department provided COVID vaccine and briefed the participants on the Ayushmann Bharat scheme. Social welfare department introduced various schemes and distributed old age pensions. Schemes such as IGNWPS, IGNDPS, IGNOAS, NFBS, blind pension, state old pension, Poshan Abhiyan, etc were introduced. Postal department shared various schemes such as SSA, PLI, RPLI, IPPB, KVP, PPF, NSC, MIS etc. Peren DLSA provided free affidavits, pamphlets and provided free legal counseling/advice to the citizens. Total of 730 beneficiaries from all departments and approximate 1500 visitors availed the benefits of the Mega Camp.

Mon: Mon DLSA organised Mega Legal Camp on November 11 at Tizit Sub-Division.  Altogether 860 people from 26 villages under Tizit Sub-division got benefited from various departments and schemes. The beneficiaries availed free services from the administration such as procurement of ST, Indigenous certificates free of cost. Opening of new bank account was done by Central Bank of India and Postal Department, free check up and distribution of medicines was done by Medical Department while Mon Child Helpline and Senior Citizens team distributed booklets and also gave awareness. Drafting of Affidavit, Legal consultation and Distribution of Legal Pamphlets were carried out by DLSA, Mon.

Phek: In Phek, the DLSA conducted Mega Legal Camp in collaboration with District Administration Phek, District Hospital Phek, Social and Welfare Department Phek, Economic and Statistical Department Phek, Labour Department Phek, Food and Civil Supply Phek, Agriculture Department Phek, State Bank of India Phek and Cooperative Bank Phek at Local ground Phek. Services Provided during the camp were Free Legal drafting, free Legal consultation and counseling, new Aadhaar Card registration and correction, Free medical checkup, vaccination/COVID-19 test, Diabetic and Blood pressure screening, Mental Health, Registration of old age pension, widow, disability schemes, Issuance of E-shram/ NBOCW registration forms, Birth and Death certificates, Distribution of various seeds, Loans and opening of New Bank Accounts. In total 877 beneficiaries availed and benefitted from the services and schemes in the camp.

Kiphire: Kiphire DLSA in collaboration with Social Welfare department Kiphire organized Mega Camp on November 12 by distributing nutritious food in four government schools (Primary and Middle School) including Shalom Children Home, Kiphire.

Longleng: Longleng DLSA organised Mega Camp at Shamakok Mission School campus. 8 different departments sensitised the beneficiaries on various services to be provided  which included legal drafting, issuance of E-shram initiated by Labour and Commission office, Social welfare Department office, Statistical and Economic Department, Disaster Management, Department of NST , Senior Citizens Forum, Department of Agriculture , Food and Civil Supply . In total, 855 beneficiaries availed the services in the camp.

Dimapur: Dimapur DLSA under the aegis of NSLSA organised Mega Camp at District Court Complex in collaboration with various department. During the camp, various government welfare schemes entitled to the beneficiaries were made available.
