
Our Correspondent Kohima | December 4 Pache Khiamniungan reclaimed the Hornbill Half Marathon title in the men’s category. Khiamniungan clocked 1:08:56, the best time so far, to triumphantly complete the 21.0975 km route of the 6th edition of the event two years in a row. Khriena Tero won in the women’s beating the 2013 winner Sagolsem Premila Devi from Manipur. In the 11.9 km Great Hornbill Run for students of Class 10 & below, Keneisao Theünuo took the boy's title and T. Tsuchoi, the girl's title. The third category, Special Lap social cause/charity event for persons with special needs under the theme "Hornbill for all" saw participation from 45 differently abled students of Cherry Blossoms School and Tabitha Enabling Academy. The special students were joined by Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sports, State Lotteries, Music Task Force, Khriehu Liezietsu, sportspersons, teachers, ASU and AYO community leaders, state celebrities and others to complete the Special Lap – a short distance run along New Secretariat road. All participants with various disabilities were awarded certificates and gift hampers .
