Kohima, June 26 (MExN): Pinnacle Skills on June 26 inaugurated its new training centre at TCP Gate in Kohima, reaffirming its commitment to bridging the skills gap and creating sustainable employment opportunities for youth in Nagaland.

The centre was inaugurated by Zubemo Tsanglao, Additional Director, Department of Employment, Skills Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Nagaland, following a prayer led by Pastor Neikepezo Shüya of Grace Chapel.

The programme was chaired by Arenla Kitho, Senior Manager of the Kohima Centre.

Delivering the welcome address, Dr Yan Murry, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Skills, reflected on the institution's decade-long presence in Kohima and said Pinnacle Skills was the first National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC)-certified training centre in Nagaland.

Emphasising the importance of certification, he urged students to value the credentials they earn through skill development programmes.

Dr Murry also introduced a social responsibility initiative for every training batch, encouraging students to undertake activities such as tree plantation and cleanliness drives as a way of contributing to the community.

Addressing the gathering, Tsanglao underscored the need for skill-based education in Nagaland, saying the state has a surplus of government employees, resulting in an economic imbalance, and that young people should be equipped with practical skills to improve their employability.

He encouraged students to explore international employment opportunities and learn foreign languages, stating that language proficiency coupled with vocational skills significantly enhances career prospects.

The official also appreciated Pinnacle Skills for its sustained contribution to skill development in the state and extended his best wishes to the students and faculty.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ajung Thonger, Operations Head and HR at Pinnacle Skills.

According to the organisation, the new training centre will offer NSDC-aligned skill development programmes, global placement support and values-based education aimed at empowering youth in Nagaland.
