PACSU endorses Shamator district demand 

Pungro, December 30 (MExN): The Pungro Area College Students' Union (PACSU) on December 30 said that it is “extremely disappointed” with the Nagaland State Government for not upholding the Government's “commitment and assurance made for Yimkhiung tribe district Headquarter Shamator.”  The Gentleman's Agreement must be fulfilled at the earliest and state government should uphold the principle of government and the state, showing its integrity, stated the PACSU in a press release. 

The PACSU strongly support for the upgradation of Shamator ADC Headquarter to full-fledged District Headquarter and willfully endorse to include the Pungro Sub-Division in Shamator District for the better future of Pungro Area Students welfare and general public of the area as Yimkhiung land, it said.  The union also gave its endorsement to the demand made by Yimkhiung Tribal Council, and pledged to stand firm in support of council’s demand.

The PACSU also expressed the people's desire of Pungro Sub-Division for the upgradation of Shamator District and willingness to be included Pungro Sub-Division in Shamator District.  Further, the union informed its federating units to prepare mentally and physically for the peaceful protest in the event of failing to fulfill the government commitment and assurance in the matter of upgradation of Shamator District.
