A glance at the various press statements carried by the various local dailies with reference to the one made by RL Akamba under “An appeal for clarification to DUDA,” compels us to pen down this words as a reminder to one and all, since we being a concerned citizens of 60 A/C Pungro Kiphire. In fact, the article contains only part of the whole.
Pungro area, as said is one of the remotest and has been left backward for more than decades and continues still. We heard of fundings like DUDA, BADF, LADF and so on and to our observation it has been fading away. Poor villagers are being deprived of their literacy, compelling them to choose hell for heaven. Village elders do not feel any sense for the publics, for they are being politically victimized.
The DAN government meant for the development of roads reached its shadow here too. The roads are being constructed which is necessarily meant for plying their VIPs vehicle. For more than two decades, what we witnessed is that an approach road to a particular village is sanctioned every year.
We heard many repetitions, if all these publications and commitments are true, then the approach roads might be nearing sky high, but in fact it still lies below sea level. The irregularities of officers posted at this place are also something to be pondered upon. When asked why they are being irregular, the simple answer they reply is “ due to road condition.” To this we should say, the road condition to reach Pungro has improved a million, credited to 60 A/C MLA.
While writing this few words, what automatically comes in our mind were ‘why we are indulging in this issues, because we are nobody, we do not have any inclination towards any organization’. So, what again comes in our minds was we could force the Pungro Area Public Forum and Pungro Area College Students Union to tackle this issue at its extreme importance.
The Pungro Area College Students Union and Pungro Area Public Forum, being an apex body of students and pubic respectively remains mute on this issue is something like they too are being politically victimized. The poor villagers are suffering, thinking that one day these organizations will do something for them, if not by the political leaders. We confidently command that our writing shall not go in vain, rather the two apex organizations shall initiate and satiate the people to some extend.
