Padampukhuri GB condemns security raids on public

Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): Expressing resentment over ‘security raids’ in Padampukhuri village, GB K Kakuho Awomi urged upon the security forces not to create fear psychosis in the mind of the public.

In a press release on Friday, the GB stated that on September 22, security forces of 32 Assam Rifle raided the house of one Kiyelu Yepthomi, “on suspicion that he is the Deputy Kilonser of GDRN/NNC.”

“However, Kiyelu is an innocent public and a government servant and he is not working under any Naga Political group (NPG),” the release stated while adding that it was “highly unfortunate to witness that the security forces carried out constant raids on mere suspicion which is a stark reflection of how security forces are targeting innocent public on pretext of maintaining law and order.” Stating that that “nothing was found in the residence of Kiyelu,” when the raid was carried out, the GB asserted that such activities are being carried out to harass the innocent public, and as such, called on every right-thinking citizen to  condemn them.
