
DIMAPUR, July 27 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has informed that the government has revoked the notice for signing of undertakings by travelers who choose to take the Pagala Pahar stretch of Dimapur-Kohima NH-29.
However, the DC, in a notice, said that authorities are still implementing safety measures and have requested for more time to complete the same. Further, due to the monsoon season the commutation from the Pagala Pahar stretch is not risk-free yet, it said.
Informing that the stretch between Patkai Bridge and Jharnapani is open for travel, the notice however cautioned against travelling during night time. It further stated that the road may be closed during the execution of any safety measure undertaken by authorities. Commuters have been requested to cooperate with authorities. Volume of traffic passing the stretch will be regulated as and when required by traffic police personnel.
The road may also be closed completely during heavy downpour of rainfall and will be re-opened once the rain stops. Since the exercise of risk mitigation on the stretch has not been concluded by the concerned authorities and due to monsoon season travelling on the said stretch is not risk-free, the notice reiterated. It strongly advised travelers advised to plan their travel in accordance with the advisory and consider taking alternate routes.
