NSF urges NPSC, Govt to announce results and new posts

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) on Saturday pulled up the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and the Government of Nagaland for delayed announcement of results and notification of new posts.

The Federation highlighted that while the NPSC prelims examination was held on November 30, 2019, the results are yet to be announced ‘for reasons best known to the NPSC’.

The unexplained delay of more than 10 months in announcing the results of state's most prestigious competitive examination has been the reason for pain and frustration among the aspirants, the NSF stated.

In this regard, the Federation appealed to the NPSC to take all necessary actions and ensure that the prelims results for NPSC-2019 are released at the earliest.

The NSF further asserted that despite the existing threat posed by COV1D-19, “this cannot be the excuse for the state government from providing employment opportunities to the youths of the state.”

It made note of the ‘raging pandemic’ of unemployment amongst the educated youths of the state. “This long existing problem has been compounded by the unprecedented influx of returnees who were employed in various sectors outside the state,” it added.

In this regard, the Federation urged the NPSC and the state government to issue notification for NPSC-2020. Further, it called for notification for recruitment to all the existing vacancies in group-C category to be issued at the earliest through the newly set up Nagaland State Staff Selection Board (NSSB).
