•-With regard to the article on May 26 about a parenting seminar conducted by Mrs Anima Martins: as a parent of adult sons and a long-serving primary school teacher, I totally concur with her statement, 'discipline children from a young age in order to bring out the best in them'.
It is easy to identify children in a classroom who are disciplined in love from an early age. From the first grade onwards, they are generally confident, able to follow instructions, obedient, persistent, resilient and usually get along well with others. They negotiate rather than bully and certainly make a teacher's job easier. A good message, Mrs Martins! Perhaps the dads of the students at Hollitoli School will be inspired by the mums who attended and invite you to conduct a seminar for them.
