Parents: Streams of life and light

St. John School Razeba celebrates Parents’ Day

Kohima, October 29 (MExN): St. John School Razeba celebrated Parents’ Day on October 28 under the theme ‘Parents: Streams of life and light’.

Speaking on the occasion, Deo Nukhu, Advisor for Higher Education & NBHM emphasized that the future of the students lies in the hands of the school. “Schools are the foundation builders for the future leaders,” he stated.

In this regard, Nukhu also stressed that teachers should ensure the students are not only doing well in the curricular activities, but their academic performance is good. “In the next 10-20 years, these people will display the education of our villages in the border, backward areas, and to make quality education grow in the backward areas depends on the teachers,” he noted.

Meanwhile, he lauded the teachers who are working sincerely for the benefit of the students. Further stating that while students spend major part of their time with teachers, he also impressed upon the parents to be responsible to ensure that their children are able to go to school and do their home-work and studies regularly. He expressed hope that the parents and teachers would jointly take care of the students. “I hope that this school will grow from year to year and from decade to decade,” he added.

Earlier, invocation was said by Vizo Pohena, Pastor, Razeba Baptist Church, words of welcome by Fr. James Sangtam, vote of thanks by Vinyi Zholia, and closing prayer by Michael, Catechist. P. Paul Dukru spoke on behalf of the School Welfare Board. Students staged several performances including songs and dances during the event.
