Passenger chopper service in Phek resumes

Phek, November 2 (DIPR): The Nagaland State Transport (NST) Department resumed its passenger helicopter service in Phek district on Wednesday.

While briefing the media at the Assam Rifles Helipad, ADC, Phek, K Mhathung Tsanglao thanked the Commandant 22 AR, Phek for making necessary clearance for usage of its helipad. Passenger service was a long felt need, and will benefit the public of the district immensely, he added.

Station Superintendent, NST Phek, Metsiviko Meyase stated that the service was suspended in the past due to security concerns raised over usage of the AR helipad, and poor turnout of passengers. However, the department had always maintained a reserved slot for Phek district in its weekly routine. He requested the public to avail the service in order to maintain continuity in its operation.

The department is currently partnering with M/S Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd and covers its operation in all the districts of the state.
