
Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): The Department of Commerce, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) undertook a two-day visit to Guwahati as part of their Skill Enhancement Course.
A total of 32 students accompanied by two faculty members visited the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) and North East Cane and Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC) on September 23 and 24, informed a press release on Wednesday. The objective of the visit is to get practical knowledge and skill training imparted at the Institute, it said.
According to the press release, Nilakhi Bora, Project Head at IIE, interacted with the students and demonstrated the skill training programmes like jewellery making, tailoring, handloom, wood carpentry, packing of agro based products, imparted in the Institute.
Similarly, Dr Gautam Dad, Assistant Professor, IIFPT highlighted on the development of Sustainable Food Processing Industry Opportunities and Challenges while Anjal Goswami, Manager, Bamboo Housing & Construction, interacted with the students. Different bamboo product making in the unit were demonstrated by the skilled artisans, the release stated.
Meanwhile, it also said that Sharon, a Consultant at NECBDC engaged with the students in touring the Bamboo Shoot Pickle Making Unit and also highlighted about creative bamboo jewellery, home decors production.
