
Bengaluru, May 7 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland State unit, has appealed to the North East people residing in Bengaluru to support the party in the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections.
He made the appeal during the ‘North East Sambesh’ organised by BJP Karnataka in Bengaluru on May 6 for the North East people residing in the city.
According to a press release from BJP Nagaland Media Cell, Patton appealed the gathering to support the party as the people back home (North East except one or two States) have also voted for BJP “in order to see the changes in the region and similarly in Karnataka too people want a change and BJP could be the best option.”
National BJP General Secretary Ramlal was the main resource person at the event, in which BJP ministers from Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh also attended. Ananta Mishra, Secretary Organisation, Pangnyu Phom, Health & Family Welfare minister, and Temjen Imna Along, Higher and Technical Education minister were part of the Nagaland BJP delegation.
The conference was first of its kind in South India where respective Ministers from each State could interact with their communities, the release said.
The following day, the BJP Nagaland delegation led by Karnataka election coordinator Dr. HM Chandrasekhar interacted with Christian leaders and communities of Mount Zion Pentecostal International Church at RK Puram, Bengaluru. Bishop Francis Jackson, who is also the Chairman of Karnataka Christian Federation, was present there. Former State BJP president Dr M Chuba Ao and State general secretary Jaangsillung represented the Nagaland BJP team.
