Patton launches District Rural Road Seminar prog

Kohima, August 13 (MExN): Nagaland Dy CM Y Patton, in charge of PWD (R&B) launched the District Rural Road Seminar programme on August 13 through virtual mode – the 1st activity of the celebration of ‘India@75: Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ as part of the initiative of National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency under Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

A press release from the Dy CMO Media Cell stated that the yearlong activities aim at imparting public awareness on achievements of PMGSY schemes. The other Activities shall include- Maintenance Drive on 7500 roads Pan India during October 2021, launching of information Booklet of PMGSY roads connecting 75 sites of historical importance during December 2021 at the National level and formal winding up of PMGSY- 1 & PMGSY- 2 in August 2022.

It stated that the Dy CM expects active participation of the MPs, the elected representatives, District Administration, Village Councils, NGOs and the stakeholders for smooth conduct and success of the year long program. To this end, the Department has nominated District Nodal Officers to with the stakeholders. 

Meanwhile, Patton has invited everyone to partake in this celebration which shall kick start from Peren, Zunheboto, Wokha, Tuensang, and Phek on August 15 and followed by other remaining district headquarters.
