PCC invokes citizens to show resentment against anti-people policies of govt

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 13 (MExN): In connection to the sit-in protest at New Secretariat junction Kohima on November 15, 16 and 17, ACAUT Nagaland, PSAN, NTC and other organizations under the banner of the Public Coordination Committee (PCC) have requested every right thinking citizen, to be present and show resentment and lend voices against the “anti-people policies of the State Government.”

Media cell, PCC in a press statement informed that the specific core issues in demand include setting up of Lokayukta at the earliest in toto, revoking the decision to scrap Class-III posts from the purview of the NPSC, declare marks and answer keys in all stages of NPSC examination and also declare waiting list and to immediately terminate all backdoor appointments made after June 6, 2016.

The PCC noted that several other States in India has set up Lokayukta, which if set up will check the menace of corruption. The Ombudsman which has its origin in Sweden has been set up in several countries and has shown proven results in curbing corruption. It has therefore questioned the government of the day for their reluctance to set up Lokayukta.

At the same time, the PCC also pointed out that the number of civil service aspirants are increasing every year. In such a scenario, the PCC said the State Government was showing such “strange mindset by scrapping Class-3 posts from NPSC purview,” which it feared will open the floodgates of backdoor appointments.

Lamenting that the people are taken for fools and mocked day in and day out, the PCC has urged all concerned to make a sea of people in front of the seat of power and show that “we can't take anymore mockery from their side.”
