Dimapur, May 22 (MExN): A joint rally of the PDA comprising of BJP, NDPP, NPP, JD(U) and Independent was held at GHSS Ground Jalukie on May 22 for Lok Sabha bye-election intending Consensus Candidate Tokeho Yepthomi. According to a press release from media cell BJP Nagaland, while addressing the rally Namri Nchang, Advisor Irrigation & Flood Control rejected NPF statement made during rally in Jalukie alleging PDA alliance as communal and anti-Christian and substantiated by saying that Nagas will never compromise with one’s faith. He added that despite many contenders seeking for the Lok Sabha ticket, Tokheho Yepthomi was chosen by the alliance because of his vast political experience. Tokheho would serve well as the ruling party representative in the parliament to address the Naga political solution, he reiterated.
Neiba Ndang, Adviser, NDPP stated that the ‘mis-governance, non performance and blatant corruption of the previous regime led to NPF’s downfall’. The opposition main poll plank this bye-election seems to be targeting only Neiphiu Rio and forgetting other campaign agendas, he added.
The NDPP Central Women wing, Vice president, Abea Mero spoke on women and youth empowerment and developing Peren district as a destination for organic farming.
K James Vizo,Senior BJP member conveyed greeting on behalf of the state president. Visazolie Lhonghu and Dy CM Y. Patton and stressed that like all parties BJP as a political party recognised by ECI sets its priority to bring development irrespective of tribe ,class, creed or religion.
Other party functionaries who attended the meet were Chumbemo Ezung, Senior members and Mukibur Rehman, President Minority Morcha BJP.
