Kiphire/Phek/Zunheboto, May 24 (MExN): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio appealed to the people to vote for PDA candidate to the Lok Sabha, Tokheho Yepthomi saying that it is a good chance to work together this time. A press release issued by NDPP media & communication committee stated that while addressing rallies in Kiphire and Phek, Rio said that it is an advantage for the people to have the PDA in the State which was in alliance with the BJP led NDA Government at the Centre and added that there could not be a better opportunity to expedite the peace process and all-round development of the State.
Calling upon the people of the State to vote for the PDA candidate, the Chief Minister highlighted the visions, developmental programmes and policies of the NDA and PDA governments and encouraged the people to reap the fruits of a good, stable government that was focused on the all-round development of the State.
Meanwhile, addressing a rally at Zunheboto Town on May 24, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio Rio described the PDA candidate Tokheho Yepthomi as a leader who has come up from the grassroots level.
Rio stated that instability of the erstwhile NPF led DAN Government from 2014 onwards severely affected all spheres of governance and public life so much that deficits increased without any work being implemented. Highlighting the incompetency of the NPF leadership, the Chief Minister said that due to lack of decisive leadership and misleading assurances particularly during the ULB fiasco in January 2017, the State saw massive public protests, rampage, burning of government vehicles and offices, police firing upon civilians wherein two precious lives were lost which led to a “war-like situation.”
Mhathung Yanthan campaigns at 39 Sanis A/C
Mhathung Yanthan, MLA & Advisor (Horticulture) held PDA coordination meeting for 39 Sanis A/C at Sanis town on May 22 for the ensuing Lok Sabha bye-elections. He addressed the party workers to put in an all out effort to ensure victory for PDA candidate, Tokheho Yepthomi. A press statement here informed that he also undertook a whirlwind campaign in his constituency at Meshangpen, Tsopo, Chudi, Longtsung, Morakjo, Lotsu, Pyangsa, Moilan, Pyotchu, Sanis town, Sanis village and Yonchujo.
