PDA to set up women police station in all districts

The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government in its Common Minimum Programme (CMP) has outlined to set up women police station in all districts of Nagaland.  

The CMP also outlined to bring about reforms in the police department through modernization and provision of modern equipment as also to bring about structural changes by way of equipping and training the police for riot control, upgrading the intelligence system and the cyber crime cells.  

“The PDA will undertake development in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with a focused approach under a clear vision,” the CMP stated.  

It also assured to enhance the workings of the judiciary for ensuring speedy justice by way of modernization of courts, setting up fast track courts and providing free legal services to the poor and needy.   It stated that the PDA will draw up anti-corruption laws and put in place mechanism to combat corruption and ensure transparency.  

Other area includes; to set up a committee to review and examine the award of tenders in the government, to establish District and State Level Public Finance Management System for monitoring projects and signboards to be compulsory part of the project implementation, systematic reforms and implementation of e-governance with appropriate G2P and P2G (People to Government) interface, effective austerity measure to be implemented to bring down government expenditure, strengthen the Personal Information Management System (PIMS) and link it to a central data base not only to enhance administration but also prevent proxy and ghost employees and to activate and empower the Quality Control Board and engage third party monitoring of major projects.
