PDCCI and PTBA hold Executives Summit 2025

Pfutsero, May 10 (MExN): The Phek District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PDCCI), in collaboration with the Pfutsero Town Business Association (PTBA), hosted the Executives Summit 2025 at JBC, Pfutsero Town, under the central theme, ‘empowering business, driving economic growth.’

An update received here stated that the event was chaired by Truvi Rhi, General Secretary, PTBA and Joint Secretary, PDCCI. Vekusu Chuzho, President, PTBA and Vice President, PDCCI, welcomed the dignitaries and participants, emphasising the importance of dialogue and unity in shaping the district's economic future. 

The keynote address was delivered by Razoukhruyi Dozo, President of PDCCI, who highlighted the urgent need to support local enterprises, improve infrastructure, and dismantle barriers to entrepreneurship. He called for solidarity among business stakeholders to advocate for meaningful economic reforms in the region.

An executive panel discussion was held where business leaders and stakeholders explored issues such as sustainable development, enterprise challenges and practical strategies to bolster economic growth in Phek district. 

During the interactive discussion session, leaders from various town business unions, including the Presidents of PTBA and the Chozuba Town Business Union, shared updates and concerns from their respective areas. 

Some of the key topics discussed were the ongoing burden of multiple taxations by factions and groups in Nagaland and finding ways and means to tackle it; concerns over licensing fees imposed by Town Councils, and calls for transparency in their utilization. The house highly discouraged the Tender System on essential goods and encouraged for positive competition among the entrepreneurs and highlighted the need for greater accountability and regular attendance among government employees was also discussed.

The house also discussed legal rights and regulatory protections for business establishments, with a focus on creating a safer, more supportive environment for entrepreneurs. 

PDCCI president shared updates from recent discussions held at the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) level and with the Government of Nagaland, particularly on matters related to the representation of Urban Local Bodies and broader policy advocacy.
