PDR urge govt to institutionalise Lokayukta Bill

DIMAPUR, JUNE 1 (MExN): The People for Democratic Rights (PDR) have urged the People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) government to activate the Nagaland Lokayukta Bill 2015 at the earliest. A press release issued by publicity wing, PDR stated that since the coming of the new government with the slogan "change is coming" there has been huge expectation from the public that the institution of the Lokayukta would be accorded foremost priority given the rampant corruption in the state government highlighted in both print and social media. However, much to the dismay of the public, the Lokayukta Bill, which was amended by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on December 15, 2017 is yet to be instituted, it lamented. While urging that PDA government to show its sincerity towards fighting corruption by instituting the Lokayukta in Nagaland, the PDR has also demanded that the individual (s) to be appointed in the Commission should be of highest integrity acceptable by the public to maintain highest sanctity and not according to political convenience.
