Chümoukedima, June 29 (MExN): The Peace Channel conducted a one-day Leadership Training Programme for Peace Club leaders at the Peace Centre, North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) campus, Chümoukedima, on Saturday. The initiative aimed to equip young leaders from various schools with skills rooted in peacebuilding, value-based leadership, and community responsibility.

Besa, District Coordinator for Chümoukedima, delivered the welcome address, urging students to grow as responsible and inspiring figures in their schools and communities. She emphasized that leadership entails service, accountability, and the courage to be role models of peace and unity.

The main session, themed “Lead by Example,” was led by Jose, Trainer at Peace Channel. Through interactive activities and personal reflections, he highlighted key leadership qualities such as impartiality, respectful behaviour, and effective communication. Participants were also encouraged to reflect on their roles and responsibilities within their schools and discuss ways to improve leadership practices.

The training included ice-breakers and team-building exercises that focused on creativity, attentiveness, and collaboration. As a collective outcome, the club leaders agreed to observe Friendship Day on July 30 in their respective schools, promoting inclusiveness and unity.

The session was moderated by Saziini, Researcher at Peace Channel, who ensured an engaging and reflective learning environment for the student leaders.
