The Naga National political talk between the Government of India and the Federal Government of Nagaland in 1964, after a lapse of its golden jubilee, a settlement is being expected between the Gol and the Nagas now led by the NSCN (I-M). A historic Frame Work agreement was signed on August 3, 2015 recognizing the uniqueness of Naga political history and situation. The content is not yet made known to the public but the frame work itself is being appreciated by many people. In the context of the present situation, some people may say better and bigger but cannot do better and bigger. A settlement is inevitable. Organizational unity may be impossible though pressed hard by the public but accepting the reality is more essential.
My simple thought is that the talk will not be hanging beyond August 3, 2016 because it has lasted 18 years and the people are now tired of hearing about an ongoing talk. On the part of the public all should pray to God Almighty that He may grant wisdom and power to the spokesmen to thrash out and overcome the vexed problems and difficulties to bring about the desired conclusion.
