Nagaland Minister for Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi today stated that people believe in politics of development and alluded that development translates into votes.

To this end, he maintained that the official launching of Nagaland’s 2nd railway station at Shukhovi with the flagging off of the inaugural run of the extended Donyi Polo Express on Friday as a ‘half-campaign’ for him.

As Shukhovi is under my constituency, such development translates into votes and as the state is going for poll in February next year, this is like a “half-campaign for me,” he shared in a lighter vein, adding: “People believe in politics of development.”

Addressing the inaugural function, Zhimomi further noted that the launching of the station was testament of United Democratic Alliance Government’s commitment and predicted that the station would be a huge success story.

He further noted that the launching the Donyi Polo Express from Shukhovi in Nagaland to Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh via Assam would generate new relationship between the three states.

The Minister also lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nagaland Chief Minister for the initiative.
