Peren and Mokokchung bid farewell to DCs

Peren/Mokokchung, November 23 (DIPR): Peren and Mokokchung districts bid farewell to their respective outgoing Deputy Commissioners.  

Peren bid farewell to its outgoing DC Zarenthung Ezung while welcoming the new DC Smita Sarangi at a function at the DPDB Conference Hall, New Hq. Peren on November 22.  

Speaking on the occasion, Ezung expressed appreciation over the co-operation and support rendered to him by all officers, NGOs and the public during his second inning as the Deputy Commissioner. Reflecting on his stay in Peren, he said that he had fond memories and that it would always stay close to his heart.  

Further stating that half of his time as an Administrative Officer was spent on land disputes, Ezung rued that it left him with little or no time for other developmental activities. In this regard, he advised the people to change their mindsets and have better co-ordination within themselves by way of solving their differences mutually under the guidance of apex NGOs etc.  

New Deputy Commissioner, Smita Sarangi, in a brief speech greeted the people of the district and said that she is happy to be back with new assignment as she is well acquainted with the district. She further called for continued co-operation from all the officers and the public.  

ADC Peren, S. Tainu who spoke on behalf of Administration Officers referred to the outgoing DC as an “able administrator” and a father figure to the people of Peren district.  

ADC Tening, Holohon spoke on behalf of the outpost Administrative Officers and staffs, and reflected that the outgoing DC was a sincere and devoted personwho was also a guide to his junior officers and staffs.  

DPO Peren Daniel, speaking on behalf of DPDB members referred to Ezung as a humble, honest and dedicated officer.  

Short speeches were also delivered by Namtsi Head DB on behalf of Dobashis, Rammi Ndang on behalf of DCs Staff, Zeliangrong Baudi, Zeliangrong Mipui Organization, President GB Association Peren among others.  

In Mokokchung, the farewell programme for the outgoing Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel was held at the Town Hall on November 22.  

In his speech, the outgoing DC referred to Mokokchung as a place where everyone could feel at home because of the hospitality of its people.  

Kumar recollected the many challenges and issues such as natural calamities and turbulence in the border areas which cropped up during his stay in Mokokchung as DC for more than 3 years.  

“But everything was managed and resolved through the support and contribution of the administrative officers, police, NGOs and most importantly the people of the district,” he said, adding that everything was made possible because of team work.   Short speeches were delivered by the incoming Deputy Commissioner Sachin Jaiswal, Er. N. Yanger Pongen on behalf of DPDB members, Er. Temsuwati on behalf of OCM, Ao Senden President Imliyanger, ADC Imtiwapang Aier on behalf of Administrative officers, PA to DC -1 Zulunungsang on behalf of the Dobashis and Meyilemla UDA on behalf of DC office staff.
