Peren bodies slam govt’s‘ frivolous’ attitude to district

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students' Union (N), Kuki Students Organization (N) and Zeme Youth Organization (N) have expressed apprehension on what it termed as the State Government’s “frivolous attitude” to the demands of better health facilities in Peren district.

A press release from the ZPN said that despite the government’s assured commitment to set up a technical committee on July 9, 2020 headed by Kensonyu Yhome, IAS, Secretary, Finance & Home Commissioner, Taxes, till date the committee has not been set up.

“The government understands the urgency of this situation necessitates direct and immediate action, however, the government seems to give little less important to the genuine needs of the district,” the press release said.

It reiterated the call for the for the government to deliver and adhere on its commitment as soon as possible. “It is high time the state government set the benchmarks to which they have committed and set up technical committee and afford better health facilities in the District Hospital,” the ZSU (N) stated.

The ZSU (N) reminded that it had put on halt its agitation in the faith that the government will be sincere to their commitment.

However, the ZSU (N) cautioned that if the government fails to institute its commitment, “we will be forced to take up its third phase of agitation any time soon.”“In the event of any untoward incident, thegovernment shall be fully held responsible,” the ZSU (N) said.
