Puiteing FC to face Native Feathers in final today
Peren, October 28 (MExN): Puiteing FC and Native Feathers have progressed to the final of the ongoing first Peren District Football League (PDFL) 2022 organized by Peren District Football Association (PDFA) after winning their respective semifinal matches on Friday at Jalukie ‘B’ village ground.
An update received here stated that the league matches have ended last week where Puiteing FC emerged as the Peren District Football League (PDFL) champions. After the first semifinal match, a short programme was held for distribution of prize for the league champion. Puiteing FC walked away with cash award of Rs 1 lakh with a trophy.
The top four teams of the league are vying for the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) cup title where semifinals were played on Friday.
Puiteing FC will take on Native Feathers in the final match for the Peren District Football Association (PDFA) cup title on Saturday.
Playing the first semi-final match, Puiteing FC defeated LekieMtei FC 2-0 and booked their berth for the final.
The first half of the game was entirely dominated by LekieMtei FC, however they missed several chances created by the midfielders and failed to make any breakthrough.
In the second half, Paolenngam struck twice and put Puiteing FC to lead in the 73rd and 85th minutes of the game which was enough to seal the deal. LekieMtei FC fought back to find the equalizer but the mighty Puiteing FC made no mistake and defended its opponent from scoring.
The first semifinal match was graced by ADC Peren, Keyirangding Hegui as the match patron.
In the second semifinal match, Native Feathers FC beat Barak FA 2-1 and secured their birth for final. Barak FA pressed on the Native Feathers’ danger area in the first minutes of the game which consequently paid offthrough the boots of Dihubein the 24th minute. The Native Feathers continued to find the equalizerbut failed in the first half.
After a stoppage time, Native Feathers from behind where Khiuwangbo Kaurintah converted from a spot kick in the 59th minute. While both the teams tried to convert the opportunities, Khiuwangbo Kaurintah then put Native Feathers to lead in the 75th minute through a long shot fromzero angle making it 2-1. Barak FA had to concede a defeat as it failed find the equalizer in the stipulated time.
The match patron for the second semi-final match was ADC Jalukie, TL Kiusumong Tikhir.
