Peren DPDB deliberates on SDG Cell, aspirational block, other issues

Peren, October 6 (MExN): The monthly Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on October 6 at DC's Conference Hall, with Deputy Commissioner-cum-DPDB Vice-chairman, Sentiwapang Aier presiding over the proceedings. 

As per a DIPR report, the main agendas of the meeting were: constitution of Sustainable Development Goals Cell; Five year action plan for Tening Aspirational Block; public parks; naming of road in honour of late Captain Neikezhakuo  Kengurüse; and construction of multi-purpose building at GHSS Jalukie. The house also approved the registration of Lungziu Development Organisation during the meeting and decided to forward the proposal to the State Government for further course of action, it said. 

SDO, PWD (R&B), Peren Sub-Division-Cum-Convener for 7th Inter-Departmental Badminton Tournament, Er Asembe Mbungcha also informed the house that the tournament, scheduled to be held from November 5-6. He also said further requirements and formalities will be made known later.

Meanwhile, State Director in-charge NYKS, John Makhoba highlighted the action plan of Clean India Programme starting from October 1-31 and informed that the programme is planned under the aegis of AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav celebration as part of 75th years of India's Independence and with a view to mobilize public to participate voluntarily in this Nationwide drive of waste collection and their disposal. 

Key activities of the programme include collection of plastic waste, single plastic use, village beautification drives and maintenance of traditional water resources and through this initiative, ambitious target of collection and disposal of 75 lakh Kg of  plastic waste has been planned, he said. 

Stating that the success of the programme of such magnitude to a large extent depends on effective participation of stake holding ministries/departments/agencies, DC Peren also urged sincere cooperation and participation from all the concern stake holders in-order to ensure the successful implementation of clean India programme. A presentation on departmental activities was also presented by DPO, Land Resource Department Alemla Aier.
