Peren DPDB meeting held

Peren, October 11 (MExN): The monthly Peren District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on October 10 at DC’s Conference Hall, District Headquarter Peren under the Chairmanship of  Advisor for Water Resources, Namri Nchang. 


At the outset, a DIPR report stated that the DC Peren cum Vice-chairman DPDB Peren, Sentiwapang Aier reminded the Horticulture Department, Peren to prepare presentation for the next DPDB meeting.


The Board discussed on the need of having a sports council or a committee and after referring to Article no. 4 of the Constitution of Peren District Sports Council, the Board finally decided to set up a committee consisting of DC, DSO, SP, DEO Peren and two to three members to be nominated later and to be approved in the next DPDB meeting.


The Board also discussed on the upcoming Peren District Legislator Trophy. Namri Nchang also made a clarification to the members present that in the past years a total sum of Rs. 6 lakh was sanctioned for conducting Legislator Trophy, however, from this year the amount sanctioned will be minimized to Rs. 3 lakh. In addition to football, focus should also be given to other sports disciplines so as to provide platform for the energetic youths to expose their talents, he added.


The Board agreed to approve the registration of Society-Kuki Inpi, Nagaland as requested by KIN President during the meeting.


The Board members also deliberated on the various points which were put forward by the members present which includes; Water supply within DC Office, New Peren which had been shut down since few days back should be restored at the earliest by the concerned authority; Fixing of defunct mouth-piece at DC’s Conference Hall; Ban on hunting and fishing activities carried out within Peren District and 6th Inter-Departmental Sports Meet.


During the meeting, representatives from Rural Development Department, Peren also gave a brief presentation. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by DPDB meeting Chairman, Namri Nchang.
