DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): The Department of Power has informed that there will be intermittent power shut downs in pockets of Kohima from October 10 to November 2 due to jungle clearance of 33kV lines in an effort to facilitate stable power supply during the upcoming winter festive season and the Hornbill Festival.

A press release from the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima notified the schedule for the jungle clearance as: October 10 to October 11—Lerie-Jakhama section (33kv Kohima Ringmain-2 feeder); October 12 to October 26—Kohima-10th Mile-Zhadima-Viphoma-Tsosunyu-Botsa area (33kv Botsa feeder); October 28 to October 31—Kohima-Lalmati (33kv Lalmati and AP-1 feeder); and November 1 to November 2—Kohima-Chakhabama (33kv Chakhabama feeder).

“While the Department shall try to minimize the total shutdown, there will be intermittent disruption of power supply in some pockets during the activity which is unavoidable. All consumers and public are therefore requested to bear the inconvenience caused,” the department appealed.

The jungle clearance exercises will be conducted 8:00am to 4:00pm on all days.
