KOHIMA, July 9 (MExN): The Pfuchatsumia Students’ Union, Kohima village, organized ‘Literary Day’ for the students of P. Khel as part of its annual plan on July 9 at Jubilee Hall, Christ King Church.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ruokuohelie Rutsa, President - KVGOA P. Khel unit, referred to the Literary Day as a “budding step” to groom students with different talents. He exhorted that books alone do not complete a student’s life and that the extra-curricular activities also play a crucial role, a press release received here informed. “The difference between an ordinary and the extra-ordinary people is the little extra,” he stated and challenged the students to give that little extra effort in whatever they do.
Around 100 students exhibited their talents by competing in different events such as Essay, Painting, Cultural song, Dance, Extempore speech, Debate and Quiz. Khriephrezonuo Rame performed a special number during the opening ceremony.
Kruyie Pienyü, P. Khel Council Chairman, during the closing of the event remarked that the Literary Day was the right platform to prepare students and elevate them to compete in higher levels. Urging the students to have the right attitude, he stated that talent and attitude go hand in hand and that with the right attitude one can utilize their talent to achieve many things. “"If one can do, you too can do. If no one can do, you must do,” he quoted the Japanese proverb.
