Pfutsero in darkness since June 5; demand to upgrade transformer

Phek, June 17 (MExN): The 16th Assembly Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC), Pfutsero has lamented the breakdown of transformer in Pfutsero since June 5 and demanded installation of upgraded/higher capacity transformer.

In a letter to the Executive Engineer (Electrical Division), Phek through the Sub-Divisional Officer (Electrical), Pfutsero, the 16th ACCC complained about the lackadaisical attitude of the government in restoring the transformer.

Since June 5, the letter said, life has come to a total standstill in Pfutsero range, while the general public silently bears the brunt of suffering hoping the authority concerned will do the needful at the earliest. “But how long should the people be made to wait and suffer?” it questioned. “The area people are being denied of the deserving basic luxury of civilization, thereby pushing back to primitive reeling under darkness.”

The ACCC reiterated its demand for an upgraded/ higher capacity transformer having learnt that the previous transformer will not hold for long even if it is repaired due to poor capacity. The letter cautioned that in the event of failure to install the transformer as demanded, the Committee along with the general public will be compelled to take its own course of action.
