PHEK, FEBRUARY 12 (MExN): The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Phek Government College organized an employment-linked career guidance program on Aviation, Hospitality, and the Cruise Line sector in India and overseas at the college campus on February 12.

The event was held in collaboration with Eagle Crest Training Academy and Consultancy (ECTAC), Dimapur, with Imsumeren, a Hospitality Trainer and Business Development Executive, as the resource person.

Imsumeren provided an overview of ECTAC, a training and consultancy institute registered under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, National Skill Development Corporation, Skill India Institutional, Government of India. The institute specializes in the Aviation, Hospitality, and Cruise Line sectors.

He engaged the audience with an informative session, offering a detailed overview of these sectors. He covered key topics such as eligibility criteria, the training process, placement opportunities, campus recruitment, salary packages, and the Skill Loan Scheme available to students. The Skill Loan Scheme is an initiative of ECTAC in collaboration with IDAN, Government of India.

Imsumeren also emphasized the friendly, warm, and accommodating nature of people from Northeast India, along with their strong learning abilities, which serve as valuable assets in these industries.

The program began with a welcome address by Dr T. Tiakaba Jamir, Principal of Phek Government College, who stressed the importance of organizing such events to raise awareness about the wide range of career opportunities available to students.

A Q&A session followed, addressing inquiries about course duration, fee structure, and placement opportunities. Imsumeren highlighted that trainees who fail to secure placements often do so because they refuse to attend interviews or give up on applying, which hinders their career progress.

During the event, ECTAC and Phek Government College signed a five-year MoU to promote future collaboration. Under this agreement, ECTAC will provide training and internship opportunities for the college's students, while the college will assist in inviting applications and screening student data for potential placements.
