PGCIL donates ALS ambulance to IMDH under CSR

Mokokchung, July 9 (MExN): Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) in Mokokchung on July 8 received an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), with Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer flagging off the vehicle.

Speaking at the inaugural programme held at the hospital premises, Longkumer thanked PGCIL for its contribution towards strengthening healthcare services in the district through its CSR initiative. 

Highlighting the importance of a well-equipped emergency medical transport system, he said several lives had been lost in the past due to the absence of such a facility.

The Speaker expressed confidence that the advanced life support ambulance would ensure timely medical assistance during emergencies, improve access to critical healthcare services and enhance the hospital's capacity to provide prompt and quality treatment.

He also commended the doctors and healthcare workers of IMDH for their dedication in delivering medical services and said the new ambulance would further strengthen their efforts in saving lives.

Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma, Chief Manager of Power Grid Thapara Deori, Ao Senden president Marsanen Imsong and IMDH Medical Superintendent Dr Alemwapang Aier also addressed the programme.

The programme was chaired by Dr Kilangwabang Pongener, who also delivered the welcome address, while Dr H T Sangtem proposed the vote of thanks.

The ambulance was formally flagged off by the Speaker in the presence of officials from the district administration, Power Grid, IMDH and civil society organisations.
