PHCs Chessore and Moya functioning without doctors

Tuensang, May 31 (MExN): Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA), the apex student organisation of the Yimchunger community has submitted a representation for posting of medical officers at PHC Chessore and Moya under the districts of Tuensang and Kiphire respectively to the Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare Kohima.

The representation signed jointly by YAA Vice President TM Susang Tikhir and General Secretary Deventhong stated that YAA officially inspected all health centres within the jurisdiction of Yimchunger in the month of April 2013. During the inspection, it was found that the two PHCs- Chessore and Moya, which fall under the Districts of Tuensang and Kiphire, were functioning without the doctors thereby causing untold sufferings and inconveniences to the people of these areas.

“These two Health Centres being located in such remotest places do not have proper roads and therefore station of doctors is urgently required for providing early treatment and medication in times of untimely sickness,” the representation read further. Therefore, the student organisation has requested the authority concerned to post medical officers at PHCs- Chessore and Moya at the earliest.
