Phek DCC endorse PAC’s decision on Naga political issue

Phek, July 25 (MExN):  The Phek District Congress Committee held an extended executive meeting on July 24 at Pfutsero and resolved to endorse the NPCC Political Affairs Committee’s (PAC) decision on the Naga political issue.

According to a press release from the party unit, the meeting was addressed by NPCC President K Therie wherein he highlighted the lack of ‘farsighted leaders’ in the state BJP and said that there is unanimous resentment against the BJP Government all over the nation. He said that the BJP had cheated the people with false promises while looting the nation and bringing the economy to its knees. Stating that the people cannot be fooled forever, he said that the time for change has arrived and expressed confidence that the Congress party will be victorious in various State elections to be held next year.

Therie is said to have challenged the party workers to work hard and indoctrinate the people to practice and treasure the traditional ethical values in politics in line with Christian faith. The release quoted the party president as saying, “when Hindus can openly propagate, support and vote for the Hindutva ideology of BJP, why Christian can't propagate or vote for a party base on its ideology if it doesn’t conflict with the Christian teachings.”

Further, the party president he said that Congress party will stand to honour and push for an early solution to the protracted Naga political issue, adding that it is only a matter of, “either the Council of Ministers deciding and advising the Governor or, all 60 Legislators resigning and paving the way to implement the agreed points on which talks were concluded.”

The meeting resolved to uphold the PAC’s decision and urge the Governor to implement it as soon as possible.

NPCC Vice President and Chairperson of Nagaland Unit Kisan Cell, V Lasuh also addressed the meeting and said that Congress party has a special affection for Phek District. He expressed his appreciation to the members present for their loyalty and convictions towards the Congress’ ideology. He urged the members to enroll under Kisan Cell to avail various benefits. The meeting was chaired by PDCC President Khosapa Venuh and it was also addressed by Kedoutsolhi Wetsa, NPCC Secretary besides various District party functionaries.
