ICAR-KVK Phek organised a training programme on climate-resilient technologies under the NICRA project on March 6.

Phek, March 8 (MExN): ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Phek ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun (NRCM), Medziphema under ICAR-ATARI Zone VII, Umiam, organised one-day training programme on climate-resilient technologies under the NICRA project on March 6.
The programme was attended by farmers from K. Basa, Thipuzu, Phusachodu, Kikruma, and Pfutseromi villages.
In the first technical session, Dr Esther T Longkumer, CTO-Soil Science, emphasised the importance of soil health management, Dr Hannah K Asangla, CTO-Agronomy, delivered on climate-resilient crops and Manjunath K S, SMS-Horticulture, on detailed cultivation practices of Amaranthus. Other presentations were made by Dr Sharanappa C H, SMS-Plant Protection, on managing major pests of crops. Dr Harini K R, SMS-Animal Science, provided insights into pig production and management, while Dr Ragulraj, STO, NRCM, highlighted the benefits of backyard poultry farming.
Er Nukusa T Vadeo, STO-Computer, explained the registration process for the M-ANITRA app, a digital platform for Mithun farmers.
The programme concluded with a farmers-scientist interaction, providing a platform for farmers to address their concerns and seek solutions to problems faced in agriculture and livestock sectors.
