Phek, March 21 (MExN): A one day workshop on ‘Academic Development’ was organised by the Phek Government College on March 16 for the students and the faculty with Dr. Michael Heneise, Director of the Kohima Institute of Advanced Studies as the resource person.
Dr. Michael is also the Editor of the refereed research Journals, ‘The South Asianist’ and ‘The Highlander’ of the Edinburgh University, Scotland. In the first session with the students, Dr. Michael highlighted on the strengths and weaknesses possessed by each individual. He stressed that one must first recognize one’s strength and then work only on it with whole hearted effort in order to excel. In the second session with the faculty members he dwelt on the necessity of developing the academic potential of the teachers. He said that identifying one’s disposition is the key to unleashing excellence in any field particularly in academics. He also expressed his keenness to help the teachers of the Phek Government College to link up with other scholars in the country and abroad for collaborative research ventures.
Earlier, Dr. Vizovol Mekro, Principal, Phek Government College welcomed and introduced Dr. Michael Heneise to the gathering while Besengulie Venuh, Vice Principal rendered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the program.
