Phek MMU team provides free health care services

Phek, October 14 (MExN): National Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Phek conducted outreach activities in Chozuba Town, Runguzu Old, Runguzu Nasa, Khutsami village, Yoruba old, Yoruba Nasa, Suthozu Old, Sekrezu village, Khusomi village, Suthozu old during the month of September.
A press release from Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer Phek stated the team provided free health check up, health talks on non-communicable diseases, hygiene and importance of breastfeeding. The team also observed the 1st anniversary of Ayushman Bharat by giving free health check-up.
Altogether 535 patients were screened, out of which 36 patients were referred to higher facilities and 78 were given Ante-Natal check-up.
Activity such as lap-test for blood sugar, pregnancy test, HB% estimation for all ANC cases and collection of blood smears for malaria were carried out.
MMU provides preventive, promotive and curative health care in inaccessible areas and difficult terrains which are underserved or unserved.
The MMU team educates tribals on hygiene and sanitation promotions, register ante-natal cases, give awareness talks on different health issues and provide free medical check-up, it added.
