Phek NCSU on Phek D.C. Complex & Phek-Chozuba Road

Phek, November 7 (MExN): The Phek District Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has, in a press release, appreciated the vigilance department for “taking corrective measures” following its June 2011 ‘Fact Finding Committee’ report on the anomalies in construction work at D.C. Complex at Phek. The Phek district NCSU has said that it will give its full support to the vigilance department at any time.

This was stated in a press release from General Secretary of Phek District NCSU, Khruzo, and President of the same, Kuzoseyi.
Also, the body has appreciated the present contractor of D.C. Complex Phek, Vezoto (Jack), for speeding up the construction of the building. They urged him to “complete the same at the earliest, so that the long felt need of the public is turn into reality”.

In this connection, the Phek Dist. NCSU also urged the concerned contractor in-charge of electrification, water supply and sanitation to produce quality workmanship and to use superior material especially for electrification. The Phek Dist. NCSU said it “will not tolerate any work done just for the sake of it, and will not co-operate in any matter whatsoever, as this the one and only D.C. Complex for the entire people of Phek District and is the pride of our people”.

As a reminder, the Union has said that “a couple of months back, during the summer monsoon, the Phek to Chozuba Road was in pitiable condition. Forget about vehicle plying on it, even it was near impossible for pedestrian to cross certain section of the road near Surhoba Village, where landslide had eroded away few hundred metres of road away, with no more road connectivity between Chozuba Sub-division with District Hq. Phek for weeks”.

With regards to this, the Phek district NCSU said that “then SDO (Civil) Razouvolie Dozo under the able administrator Nikhashe Sema, the D.C. of Phek, brought connectivity back in a record time”. Now with the present ‘SHISHA HOHO’ to be hosted by Ketsapo Village in the early part of December 2012, the Phek district NCSU is “very grateful to the Executive Engineer P.W.D. for providing 3 (three) JCB excavators for clearance of road from Chozuba till Phek”.

The Phek district NCSU has also appreciated the present D.C. Phek and his subordinates for their “tireless effort and concern” for the Phek to Chozuba Road.

Since a long time, various public forums and NGOs have raised their voice on the Phek-Chozuba Road for the provision of ‘black topping’ on the same. “Why is the concerned contractor neglecting the voice and grievances of the public?” asked the district level Union. The Phek district NCSU “seriously views the above matter and urges upon the competent authority to probe into the Phek to Chozuba Road and deliver justice for the people at the earliest”.
