Phek NPF defends DAN on quota slur

Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): The NPF unit of Phek district has denounced the allegations of Phek District Congress Committee that the NPF-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland legislators undermined the Chakhesang community on the reservation policy. A rejoinder from the Phek NPF received here today called the Congress’ statements “without reasons and on frivoulous grounds”
“The habitual accusation of the PDCC that the present Chakhesang Legislators have not protected the rights of its citizen’s smells of sinister plot of maligning them without reason and basis. It only voluminously speaks of their desperation and denigration of the peoples’ mandate which is uncalled for,” the Phek NPF stated. The unit’s president Chivotso Nienu appended the rejoinder.
The unit claimed that “the present Legislators have been working very hard for the upliftment of our people and resultantly, our people are benefitting from it which has become an eye sore of the PDCC”.  The unit further said, “it appears” that the PDCC have “failed to comprehend the content of 21st March 2011 Cabinet memo clubbing the Chakhesang and Pochury Tribe for 6% in preparation of job reservation.”
“It must be stated unambigously that the Chakhesang and Pochury tribes have coexisted since time immemorial and will continue to do that in the days to come.
The devisive politics preached by the PDCC will not hold water as NPF would relentlessly work for the fraternity and common good of all the people in the district,” the Phek NPF claimed. It added that the “the government of the day” took a “wise decision” for the “common good of the people” and “we laud the initiative of the government.”
