Phek NPF takes exception to submission of memo to Governors

DIMAPUR, NOV 27 (MExN): The leaders and members of the NPF, Phek Division held a meeting on November 26 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima and lauded the party President Shurhozelie and chief minister Neiphiu Rio for guiding the party in the right direction and also expressed their whole hearted support. The meeting also felicitated Nitish Kumar on his taking over as the chief minister of Bihar.

The party, in the meeting, took a serious note of the memorandum submitted to Shyamal Datta, Governor of Nagaland, which was signed by 53 citizens of Pfutsero alleging breakdown of law and order in the state.

However, stated the President and the General Secretary in a release, “after thorough investigation, it was discovered that many of the signatories had been misled as to the real contents of the Memorandum” which was also signed by some GB’s and in which some of the signature were forged. Stating that GB’s are government appointees and that any public grievances can be conveyed to the government, the party stated, “GB’s are an institution which should not be misused by misleading them.”

The house also reviewed the resolution of Pfutsero NPF to support the political stand of K. Therie even after his suspension from the primary and active membership of the NPF party.

The party formed a committee comprising of four Area NPF unit President, the Divisional President and general Secretary to look into the matter with 16 Pfutsero A/C as to why disciplinary action should not be initiated against them for continuing to side with a suspended member and to take up cases against NPF members who were signatories to the memorandum.

The committee has been entrusted to submit the report of the action initiated against them at the earliest and to submit its report to the Central Party.

Stating that the Pfutsero public rally on November 8 was to voice grievances over the factional clashes, the party stated that the memorandum to enact Article 355 of the Indian Constitution and Governor’s Special Power for Nagaland was never discussed.

If the same is submitted, stated the party, it should be done by the Pfutsero Town Council but PTC has failed miserably added the party. Condemning the memorandum the party stated that it was done solely by certain leaders whose sole aim was to dislodge the DAN government.

The party has also taken strong exception of Chakhesang Youth Front’s President and Advisor action of filing  a PIL in Guwahati High Court challenging the DAN government’s appointment of Parliamentary Secretary. Stating that the CYE was for the welfare of the youth, the party stated that they have crossed the limit.

The party has also pointed out that the CYE office bearers should immediately resign in order to maintain the good image of CYE.
