DIMAPUR, MAY 19 (MExN): Phek Police on Monday stated that one person was arrested in connection with an extortion-related case in Pfutsero town earlier this month. According to a statement issued by the police under the ‘Zero Tolerance to Extortion/Crime’ campaign, Phek Police said that on May 10 at around 9:30 am, Pfutsero Police Station received information that “one suspected cadre was loitering in and around Pfutsero town distributing the demand slip for extortion.” Following the information, the police anti-extortion team rushed to the area and “arrested one alleged accused,” the statement said. Police also informed that one “UNPG NNC (PB) demand slip Sl. No. 18” was recovered and seized from the accused person. In this connection, a case has been registered at Pfutsero Police Station vide for further investigation.
