Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): Phelem Konyak, also known as Tabitha Na-am Konyak, founder of Naam Academy and Learning Centre, has been honoured with the National Change Maker’s Award 2026 for her grassroots social work and service to underprivileged communities.

The award, organised by Samanway Pratishthan in collaboration with the India Foundation, was presented at an event in Vadodara, Gujarat, informed a press release received here. 

 

Konyak was recognised for her work in humanitarian service and free education, including providing food, shelter, basic necessities and care to underprivileged children.

Established in 2022 as Naam Ministry and later renamed Naam Academy and Learning Centre, the initiative is based at Jahjon Ward in Mon town. It works with children and young people from underprivileged and remote communities, including those living along the India-Myanmar border in Mon district.
