Winter Nights gotten much longer in duration, it was still very dark when the Phone Alarm Bell rang under the Pillow at 4:30 AM in the morning. I woke up and stopped the Bell but still lay under the warm Blankets thinking randomly about various things: about Issues in our Land, about Worries, about Happiness, about our Maker; Problems and about who owns the day etc.
Our High School Science Teacher, 62 years ago, taught us: ‘Nothing can come out of Nothing’ but today Science says: ‘The Universe came out of NOTHING through a Big Bang’ of a Black Hole and the Universe is still Expanding!
Can the Universe extending endlessly billions and billions of light years, (1 light year = (186000 X 60 X 60 X 122 X 30 X1.6) KM in all directions, containing trillions and trillions of Stars and cosmic bodies, come out of Nothing?!
Long before this scientific knowledge, the Bible says: God created the Universe from Void, which means ‘Empty Space’ where there was nothing except Darkness i.e. everything was Darkness; Moses would not have known the Black Hole, otherwise he would have written: ‘God created the Heavens and the Earth out of the Black Hole.’
God owns the Day because out of NOTHING God created the Day and the Night. So, God is the sole ‘Intellectual Property Right’ owner of the Day and Night.
Now, who has the Propriety Right of the Indian Independence Day?
One month before Indian Independence, on 1st July 1947, the British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Bill without any decent and fixed 15th August 1947, for transfer of Authority. Then, on 14th August at Midnight, India inherited most of the parts of British India as were willing to join the INDIAN UNION and on the Consent of the representative Members in the Parliament, Jawaharlal declared India a Republic and the symbolic Indian Flag was raised.
By the declaration of the 1st July 1947, the British Parliament bequeathed the Country, and the State of India inherited the Right to 15th August as its Independence Day.
The Naga National Council on 14th August 1947 declared: “Naga Hills would not be a part of the Indian Union”. The NNC is thus the Originator of the Day and it is the Independence Day of Nagaland -not the Indian State of Nagaland- but the proposed notional and national State of Nagaland.
No other political Group can use the NNC Flag and claim their Group declared Naga Independence. If the New Naga National Groups are broad minded enough, nothing prevents them from accepting 14 August as the Day of NAGA Independence and share the significance of the day, But this would amount to a tacit acceptance the precedence of the NNC over them.
If they are narrow minded, they may not like the conscience of such an acceptance, but in such a case the Groups will find themselves in the Horns of Dilemma unless they develop a conscience of Truth for the sake of all Nagas and join the Naga National Council again, the Father and Mother of Naga National Consciousness.
No two different political Identities can together share one and the same political Flag: No two Political Parties, no two different political States can have One and the Same political Flag. Some Naga National Organizations, not giving the importance to such fundamental political Matters, display a reflection of their lack of political fundamental Principles.
Mrs. Indira Gandhi broke away from the monolithic Indian National Congress and formed a separate Faction of the Original Congress of Mahatma Gandhi and of her Father Nehru. Though her faction was stronger, she could not use the Original Flag of the Congress for her new ‘Congress’ and hence she formed a separate Indira Congress Flag with the imprint of a Human Palm instead of the Original Spinning Wheel of Mahatma Gandhi. Mamata Banerjee formed a new Congress and had to device a New Flag; Mr. Sangma and Sharad Pawar constructed a new Congress Flag different from their parent Party Flags.
Nagas today seem to easily take everything they like as theirs: Somebody the other day, said the Naga Club was formed in 1980: it was founded in 1918; a top Naga National Leader once said Phizo was the first NNC President: he was the 4th. These very embarrassing slip of the Pen or of the tongue from any top Leaders and reveal a presumptuous personality Nagas very often reveal today.
The white British Government Servants in the 19th Century had a Club at Kohima in the erstwhile Town Committee Hall where only the Whites were allowed Entry. The white Officers of Naga Hills and of Kohima used to meet there every Evening after the Office Hours to Dance and Drink and enjoy their Skins. Indians and Nagas were not allowed into the Club.
The NAGA Government Servants, seeing the cue of the White Man’s Club formed a similar Yellow Club called NAGA CLUB where Black Skins were not Members. The Naga Club raised a small Building near present Mission Compound above Choto Bosti. The Naga Officers, later every Naga, could in the evening go there, meet Friends and play Badminton, Carom, Cards and Boxing or discuss anything under Heaven. The British Administration and the Naga Club for the first time seeded the Naga Consciousness as a People.
It was Mr. Kevichüsa, one of the first Naga Administrative Officer of the Naga Hills at Wokha Conference, in the first NNC Meeting of 1946, brought out the Idea of the Nagas as a NATION. Quite the precious few of even the then Educated could not fully comprehend and understand the Idea of a Naga Nation, and Kevichüsa expounded the Idea in detail in Assamese in the Meeting itself and from then on the Nagas took themselves more and more a Nation.
Mrs. Mani Kevichüsa was the first to hoist one Angami Shawl as Naga Flag on 14 August 1947 and Mrs. Lhousileü Haralu, the Eldest daughter of late Mr and Mrs Kevichüsa, could be the first person to sew the NNC Flag of Rainbow in a blue piece of Cloth and a Star on the left top corner. This Flag can be used only by the NNC and no other Organization
When Indira Gandhi splinted the Original Congress political Party in India, Kamaraj Congress got the original Congress Flag and Indira Congress had to design a different Congress Flag with the Palm of a human hand in the Middle of the Flag. The Spinning Wheel of Mahatma Gandhi is replaced with the photo of the Human Palm (right hand or left hand the Writer has forgotten!?)
On 4 December 2012, the International Olympic Committee -IOC suspended Indian Olympic Association –IOA, this means Indian Athletes can not use the Indian Flag in the Olympic Games. State and Religious Flags are that significant.
