Phek, October 24 (MExN): The 2nd Gospel Football Tournament of Phek District 2022 was held at Local Ground, Chozuba Town from October 15 to 24. The event was flagged off under the banner of Youth Department of Chozuba Town Baptist Church (CYE, CTBC) on the theme ‘Together in Christ.’
Altogether, 18 teams representing clubs, churches and villages participated in the tournament. The defending champion, Phoenix United, Chozuba Town emerged as the winner of the tournament, stated a press release.
The guest speaker during the inaugural function, Rev Muluvoyi Nienu, Youth Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) asserted that sport is a universal language that every person can understand. It is a means through which human creates friendships, networking and relationships.
The valedictory service was graced by Deo Huprem, Youth Director, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima. He said that like any other discipline of sports/games, is a passion driven discipline and it requires kindness, responsibilities and generosity in both personal and professional aspects. He also asserted that time management for personal and professional responsibilities should be well managed for sportsman such that, one never neglects their works or studies.
