Pholami GHS gets Tribal Girls Hostel

Kohima, February 6 (MExN): The Tribal Girls Hostel attached to Government High School, Pholami village under Phek district was formally inaugurated today by Nosazol Charles, Additional Development Commissioner, Planning & Coordination Department, Nagaland.


The construction of the hostel was sanctioned through the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.


Addressing the gathering, Charles recalled his association with the project and expressed immense satisfaction at the completion of the same and the additional developments in the form of Headmaster's Quarter and Assembly Hall through judicious use of the funds by the joint team of Village Council and Village Education Committee of Pholami village.


He pointed out the need to focus on the Special Development Goals set by the UN, especially on education.


He hoped that the village will see more growth in the field of education through the setting up of hostel.


Chairing the function, Vezhoduyi Nakro, chairman PWUP recalled how the present site of the Government High School was inaugurated by the then Development Commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir on May 28, 2010.


He said the school building was inaugurated by the then Commissioner & Secretary of School Education, FP Solo on March 2, 2016 through whom the present Girls Hostel was initiated.


Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Pholami Village Council Chairman Vesopa Nakro while acknowledgement was led by Raruveyi Swuro, Chairman PWUK.


Vote of thanks was proposed by Thupiisiiyi Medeo, Head GB.
